Better Care & Better Understanding

A Total Focus On Patient Care and Improving Your Well-being

Each one of us wants to find relief from the symptoms of the conditions we struggle with. Everyone deserves a chance to feel great again. There is hope. We can help.

Welcome to the Albany Clinic

The Albany Clinic specializes in offering innovative procedures to patients who are unable to find relief of their PTSD or Depression symptoms. It is our mission to extend a helping hand to those who are suffering from these debilitating conditions.

We offer state-of-the-art procedures including: Intravenous (IV) Drug Infusion Therapy (Ketamine), Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB), and TMS therapy or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. These procedures have been shown in clinical trials to be effective in significantly improving symptoms of Treatment-Resistant Depression and PTSD.

Our Services

Stellate Ganglion Block

Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) is an injection of a local anesthetic around a collection of nerves located on the right side of the neck. Because these nerves control the “fight or flight” response of the sympathetic nervous system, SGB is an effective treatment for those suffering from PTSD.

IV Infusion Therapy

At the Albany Clinic we use IV drug infusions, primarily composed of the drug ketamine, as therapeutic interventions for both Treatment-Resistant Depression and for PTSD, where it has been shown to be effective in alleviating symptoms for both of these conditions.

TMS Therapy

We offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS) for Treatment-Resistant Depression and other conditions by sending magnetic pulses to underactive regions of the brain. It’s a noninvasive treatment that brings relief to many of our patients.

Our Level of Care

At the Albany Clinic we’ll work with you to find the treatment that is best for you. We realize that no two patients are alike and treatments need to be tailored to the specific individual in order to achieve the best results. During a consultation, Dr. Garwin will assess your symptoms and, along with a mental health care provider’s assessment, he will determine which treatment (Stellate Ganglion Block or IV Drug Infusion Therapy) will best treat your specific condition.

Our Experience and Expertise

Dr. Garwin has over 40 years of clinical experience working with patients and physicians as an anesthesiologist. He works with the medications used in Stellate Ganglion Block and IV Drug Infusion Therapy on a daily basis. This makes him uniquely suited to run a clinic devoted to the administration of these procedures for the relief of PTSD and Treatment-Resistant Depression. In addition to our experienced physician, our nursing staff is extremely caring and competent and boasts over 20 years of working experience with patients.
